Terms of Service

Version v1 — 2026-09-04 · Last updated: September 4, 2026 · These terms may change as the product evolves; we will update the version and date here when they do, and ask you to accept the new version.

What DugoutIQ is

DugoutIQ (also known as Ball Boy / BallBuddy) is a between-games planning tool for youth baseball coaches: rosters, depth charts, tournaments, games, lineups, and an AI assistant. It is currently in an early beta. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

Who may use it

DugoutIQ is for adults — coaches, team managers, and league staff. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The service is not directed at children, and children should not use it directly.

Your data, your authorization

You keep ownership of the roster and planning data you enter. In return, you affirm that you are authorized to enter and manage that data — including players' names, jersey numbers, positions, and any notes — for example as the team's coach with the knowledge and consent of parents or guardians, or under your league's rules. You are responsible for honoring removal requests from parents or guardians; we will help if you contact us.

Don't enter data you aren't authorized to share, and don't put medical or other sensitive information in free-text fields like player notes.

AI features and third parties

The AI assistant sends relevant roster and tournament data (including player names) to Google's Gemini API to generate answers and suggestions. We also rely on Clerk for authentication and Railway for hosting. Details are in the Privacy Policy. AI output can be wrong — lineup suggestions are proposals, and nothing changes until you approve it. Use your own judgment as a coach.

Acceptable use

  • Don't attempt to access another team's data.
  • Don't use the service to harass anyone or to store unlawful content.
  • Don't probe, overload, or disrupt the service.

Beta service, no warranty

DugoutIQ is provided "as is" during the beta, without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Termination and deletion

You can stop using DugoutIQ at any time. A head coach can delete the team and all of its data from Settings → Danger zone, and any coach can delete individual players from the roster. You can also request export or full deletion of your data by emailing alex.gruver03@gmail.com. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change materially, we update the version and date at the top of this page and ask you to review and accept the new version the next time you use the app.
