Two jobs, two apps

A youth baseball weekend has two very different workflows. In the stands, a parent or team manager scores the game in GameChanger: pitch by pitch, with live stream and a box score for the family group chat. GameChanger's public site describes exactly this: real-time scoring, team and player stats, HD streaming, highlights and recaps, team messaging and schedules (gc.com).

In the dugout, the coach has a different problem: who plays where in inning four, who is owed innings from Saturday, which arms are eligible Sunday, and how the whole weekend fits together. That is planning, and it happens between games. DugoutIQ is built for that side only. It does not score games, does not stream, and does not message parents. It takes what GameChanger recorded and answers the coach's questions with it.

What we import from GameChanger

The season totals export is the one GameChanger gives you by default: one row per player with batting, pitching and fielding totals. It is useful for a stats snapshot on the roster and for setting a depth chart with the season in view.

The per-game export is the valuable one for planning. It has one column block per game, and each block imports as a separate game. That gives DugoutIQ two things it cannot get from totals: dates, which drive the pitcher rest calculation, and per-game innings, which drive the playing-time table.

What DugoutIQ adds on top

• Pitcher workload and rest status. Every pitcher on the roster with last pitched date, days of rest, and a Ready / Limited / Rest status built on the Pitch Smart rest thresholds. Imported dates make this automatic.
• Playing time across a tournament. Innings played and innings sat per player, per tournament, so the next lineup starts from who is owed time. See the fair rotation method.
• Lineups by inning. Drag-and-drop batting order and a fielding board with a position for every player in every inning, with extra hitter and DH slots configurable per game.
• Tournament and game planning. Set up the weekend, add games as the bracket fills in, and keep each game's lineup and pitching plan together.
• Depth chart. Rank players by position so you know who covers shortstop when your starter is pitching.
• A printable lineup card to hand to the scorekeeper, which closes the loop: the plan built here becomes the lineup entered in GameChanger.
• An AI assistant that knows your roster and proposes changes for you to approve, rather than acting on its own.

A tournament weekend, end to end

• Thursday. Create the tournament, add Saturday's pool games, check the pitcher board for who is Ready after last weekend, and draft Saturday lineups.
• Saturday, between games. Scorekeeper exports the per-game CSV; you import it. Innings played update, pitcher outings get dates. Adjust game two from the playing-time table.
• Saturday night. Import again. The board now tells you which arms are eligible Sunday under the rest rules or the USSSA innings limits, and who sat the most. Build Sunday's lineups from that.
• Sunday morning. Print the lineup card, hand it to the scorekeeper, and coach.

What DugoutIQ deliberately does not do

No live scoring, no streaming, no parent messaging, no stats we did not import. Those are solved problems and GameChanger solves them well.
